Ended up staying 3 nights in Cadaques, sleeping in, having siestas and going to bed early. Stayed one night in Barcelona. Didn't really go to see anything, but there seems to be a good vibe in the city
Tuesday then I flew to Vienna and trained it onto Graz where I am now. Staying with Lilli and George who I met in NZ (and who met each other there) It's been nice just to chill out and spend time with friends. Have slept waay too much once more, and I'm really missing chances to get time alone to spend with God. George has been working so been hanging out in the daytimes with Lilli. Weds we went into Graz and did some excellent shopping. Got some good running shoes. Went to a BBQ with their friends that night at Lilli's Dad's place. An amazing house. Everyone spoke English most of the night too, so I felt pressure to listen because they were doing it just for me. It's really kind when folks do that. Met some really cool folks
Thurs we went for a drive through some gorgeous forest and up into the hills and Thurs eve we went to someone's leaving party who I just met.
Fri we went to the market on a bicycle and I decided when I get home I want a bicycle. They are so practical and simple. Definitely one of my good ideas. Fri eve we went to a Thermal pool up in the mountains somewhere. Really beautiful.
Yesterday was a great day. Went to Lilli's Dad's again for lunch (the main meal of the day here, and boy do they mean it!) and met her brother and mother. Had a great time with them then went with George to watch Sturm Graz play Honever Budapest (0-0) and hung my NI flag up on the railings (back to front as it turned out). Then we went to a pub with some of his friends and I impressed them all with my wit and stories, and finished the evening climbing up a big hill to hear some jazz. We managed to get into one of the private balconies, but that's in part due to the fact that the jazz was finished and everyone was going home.
Today Lilli takes me the 3 hours West to Mittersill. Then starts the course tomorrow morning. Really hoping that I'll also start a habit of running out there (went for a run yesterday. Not alot of fun) Think 7 weeks of daily running would make a big difference to my fitness which is shocking at times (i.e. the times when I need it.) Theory that if you never run, you never know how unfit you are, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Sorry for the dull repetition of facts without wit today. It's 9.30am
